Gabriela Sullen is a Detroit native, working as an intern under the guidance of Detroit Health Department Deputy Director Leseliey Welch. During the school year, Ms. Sullen serves as Program Coordinator for the Pontiac School District’s Parent University, where she has created a curriculum and developed a social media strategy to connect parents and caregivers with parenting and personal development classes. Prior to her role as Program Coordinator for Parent University, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA for Oakland University.
Ms. Sullen currently serves as Programming Committee Chair for Warrior Women Against Poverty, a nonprofit in Detroit that helps homeless women out of poverty to self-efficacy. Ms. Sullen is a student at Oakland University where she is pursuing her Masters of Public Administration in health care. Ms. Sullen received her Bachelor's in Psychology with a minor in Latino Studies at Wayne State University. She has a passion for community health, and her long-term goal is to own and manage community health clinics that are multilingual and offer holistic health care to those in need.
